You can't script this stuff any better. Just a couple weeks ago I talked about the importance of short term thinking vs. long term thinking and filling the headlines this week is a story that illustrates exactly the point I was making. When you are too focused on the "here-and-now" and are not willing to make temporary sacrifices, you set yourself up for losing out on big picture rewards. None of this is theory, there are some very scary statistics out there proving out how dangerous this thought process that some people promote can be.
