Join us this Sunday as we continue our series entitled, "What is the Church?" Last week we said that historically the Christian church has understood itself to do three things when we gather. The gathered church is a place where: (1) the word of Christ is faithfully proclaimed, (2) the ordinances of Christ are faithfully administered, and (3) the community of Christ is faithfully cultivated. Last week, we talked about the word preached and the first of the ordinances: the Lord's Supper. This week we look at the second ordinance: baptism. We have the opportunity to not only hear what baptism is, but also to see what baptism is. Remember that we have baptisms between services at 10:45 am.
