  • Instead, try to understand on a deep level what's making music or trends popular, and then learn how you can assimilate those good aspects into your own work!
  • Artist always have decisions to make as very as direction, and there is nothing wrong with focusing one way, for a time, because it is popular
  • It can only become “selling out” if you’re not putting your special, unique artistry into it.
  • Be uniquely you, but also take into consideration which decisions will help you relate to your audience better
  • Relating to your audience - and bringing something that other value into the world is, in my opinion, the end all for the artist
  • So don’t be afraid to make decisions with all of this in mind - while maintaining your creative, unique, artist spark
