Listen Later

In this episode, Lindsay highlights the college recruiting process and talks about:

  • Why it's so important to ask the right questions
  • What resources are out there as you navigate the process
  • Not being afraid to dream big and make your goals known

Lindsay is a wife, mom of three boys, a former collegiate athlete, and has spent the last 13 years as a School Counselor. She has impacted hundreds of youth over her career in academic, career, and social emotional learning. After a tragic accident in 2017 she became a quadriplegic and has spent the last 5 years redefining what life looks like while adapting to her adversity.

She is now a Virtual School Counselor, working for the largest homeschool program in the state of Alaska and is the voice of the My School Counselor podcast. She interviews former student-athletes who have gone through the athletic recruiting process and provides a platform for them to tell their stories in order to show parents and students that there's not one way to earn an athletic scholarship. She educates about academics, the emotions around being recruited, and how students get noticed by schools and she also talks about careers. She empathizes with her guests as many have faced their own adversities, much like she has!
