In this continuing message from the True Worship sermon series on the Midweek Church Service, Reverend Hayley Ace explores what worship really is and challenges the common idea that it is simply a song or a short part of a church service. Instead, she shows that true worship is a daily life lived in surrender to God.

Beginning with the command to have no other gods before the Lord, the message explains that every person is made to worship, and if God is not first, something else will take His place. Reverend Hayley encourages viewers to examine where their time, affection, and attention go, warning that modern idols are often found not in carved images but in the things that quietly take God’s rightful place in the heart.

Drawing on Romans 12, she emphasises that worship means offering our whole lives to God as a living sacrifice. This includes obedience, sacrifice, laying down temptation, and allowing the Lord to shape us as the potter shapes the clay. Using the picture of marriage and covenant devotion, the sermon shows that God does not want a token part of our lives, but wholehearted love and faithfulness.

The message closes with a call to make God first in everything, not just in moments of singing, but in everyday life, work, choices, and devotion. True worship is giving God everything and living for His glory.
