#051: Should a Coach Enter the Social Media Game ?

What’s up everybody. This is Karim Amri, and welcome to the coaching secrets podcast.
For years before, whenever someone told me , Hey man, you need to be active on Social Media, to let the people know you, and show up on facebook and Instagram, I was totally convinced that this world is not for coaches. It was crystal clear that for coaches this is not needed.
I always said to myself that Coaches get their clients by referral, that’s the best way. Until I had a mind shift, where I started to think that in certain way, being on Social media is an opportunity to add value to the thousands who will not have the chance to be your clients. So this Social media will be a kind of mic to use to add value to others, even when you never meet them or know them.
When starting this journey, it’s important to choose the social media platform that your customers are using the most, to focus on it.
If your customers a mainly using FB, you’ll focus on FB
If your Customers are mainly on LinkedIn, you’ll focus on Linked In
If your customer are on IG, you’ll focus on IG
And so, one for the other SM platforms.
In previous podcasts, we highlighted that we need to identify where the dream customers are congregating, and the use of SM here, will be for:
Understanding well the platform itself.Understand how to promote ads on the platform.Understand the mindset of the Dream Customers (What they like, what they buy, )Join the groups they are part of.Connect with themAdd value to them.
I always refer to the importance of groups whenever we are focusing on our customers congregation, as groups in this SM are, are becoming the best way to know, connect, network and interact with people.
The good thing with SM groups, is unlike the old events and summits, where the number is limited and depend on a geographical area, with social media we can connect, and get in touch with potential customers from all over the globe.
It’s important to stick to one social media platform in the beginning, and publish in it, at least once a day. After mastering this platform, you may spend to other platform, especially with the present of apps and service providers giving the possibility to share the same content simultaneously on different platforms.
