Husband and wife Carrie Theiss and Chris Chavez got the worst news in 2014—their eldest child, Eli, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Very sadly, Eli passed away less than two years later from cancer when he was just 8 years old. When Eli was sick, Carrie and Chris say they got assistance not just from their employer, the military, but also from foundations and almost complete strangers. They say this help was so invaluable to them in their time of need and despair that they now want to share this information with other families who made need it. Today, Carrie and Chris are on a mission not only to share their own story about their family and Eli but to also highlight the services and assistance provided by the remarkable organizations that help families like theirs. It’s their hope that others will be able to find these resources a little bit easier so that they can receive the help they need sooner.
