Dr. Dania Tamimi discusses the vital role of an oral and maxillofacial radiologist in dentistry. Specific suggestions for safely obtaining, optimizing and interpreting dental radiographs of all types, including CBCT are included.  
 
 Dr. Dania Tamimi graduated with a dental degree from King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 1999. She trained at Harvard University, School of Dental Medicine and earned a doctorate of medical science (DMSc) and certificate of fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology in 2005. She is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (ABOMR). 

She is a reviewer and an Editorial Board member for Oral Surgery, Oral Pathology, Oral Medicine and Oral Radiology (OOOO). 

 She is the lead author on “Specialty Imaging: Dental Implants”, a new radiology book that bridges the gap between the clinical implantologist and the radiologist, and a co-author on “Diagnostic Imaging, Oral and Maxillofacial”. She is also Director of Education at the Institute of Advanced Maxillofacial Imaging (IAMI), the educational arm for BeamReaders, Inc. She currently runs her oral radiology private practice in Orlando, Florida.
