John Brophy, Manager of the Fairgreen Shopping Centre in Carlow joined John to chat about the topical business stories of the week, the shopping centre - how it is being impacted by Covid and how events such as Halloween and Christmas will be very different experiences in The Fairgreen this year.
Three years ago, Lighthouse Studios was established in Kilkenny and now employs around 170 people and growing. During the week John visited the studios and met with Managing Director Clare Finn to chat to her about the studio, how it ended up in Kilkenny and the operation they’ve got.
The Ellen McArthur Foundation is an organisation that aims to “develop and promote the idea of a circular economy” and to discuss the work of the foundation and explain in more detail the concept behind a circular economy John spoke with Hugh McCann who is the Global Partner programme Lead in Europe.
Kathleen Phelan is a Kilkenny woman who will be known to some for her antiques store, 'Phelan & Sons', on Ballybought Street and like many, Kathleen found that her business had slowed down because of Covid. Our KCLR Reporter Shauna Mc Hugh visited Kathleen in the workshop to hear how she had pivoted and is now producing face masks.
