We Believe in

1 Corinthians 15:3-4

Galatians 1:6-9

6 I am amazed that you are so quickly turning away from him who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 not that there is another gospel, but there are some who are troubling you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, a curse be on him! 9 As we have said before, I now say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, a curse be on him!

1 Corinthians 15:3-4

3 For I passed on to you as most important what I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,

325- Council of Nicaea

381- Council of Constantinople

451- Council of Chalcedon

Secular 0

Secular 1

We believe in...

We- roots us in community

I- tells us that the individual is the primary

Believe- we are encountering a God who is still a mystery, we don't know everything

Know- this is 'my truth', there's an air of certainty

In- God is not to be known as an object, but is known personally

That- I don't need to know something personally, better knowing is found at a distance

What does it mean to believe these words?

It means we are a community.

It means we are invited to a great mystery.

To confess the faith is to make what we believe into something shared, public, and recognizable, not just a fleeting thought from the heart.

What does it mean to live by these words?

Following Jesus means staying in the boat—even when faith feels fragile. Struggles will come, and there may be moments we let go of the oar, but what matters is that we don’t jump ship.

The Creed is not cold doctrine, but a vibrant call to worship.

We know that at the center of the universe is a Relationship.
