Running Miles

06 Running Miles with Poppy May

Listen Later

This week I’m joined by Poppy May, a wheelchair athlete who shares her journey into running and finding confidence through sport.

We discuss how her first 10K sparked a love for racing that’s led to so much more. From starting out in the gym to taking on the London Marathon, her story is one so many people will relate to.

We talk about her shift in mindset from chasing times to simply enjoying the experience, and how both the gym and racing have played a huge role in supporting her mental health.

Poppy also shares how she began posting about being a wheelchair user in the gym after noticing the lack of representation on her social media, and how that’s grown into working with some of her dream brands while continuing to push for more inclusivity in the space.
