HAPPY NEW YEAR! ♥
The energy for this year is staying true to our authentic self, slowing down and reaping the growth and opportunity that comes from going out our own pace.
Vaginismus is a condition where your muscles involuntarily contract with the act of penetration. People usually report discomfort with penetration, inability to tolerate penetration, your partner is “hitting a wall”, sensations of burning and stinging especially around the opening. These are the questions you asked from my IG Q+A with my responses.
Side note: vaginismus is 100% curable, with the right resources and the right people on your team. ♥
Q+A TIMESTAMPS:
6:00: Should I take a center healing mindset or give into penetrative sex for husbands benefit?
8:20 I’ve had it and worked through it, but sometimes it comes back, what do I do in those moments?
9:50 Is it seriously mostly the nervous system as the cause? Same as vulvodynia.
10:45 Treatment won’t stick. Been in PT for 3 years. I do well until I don’t, advice?
13:25 The dick just won’t enter my vagina, how to curse this? Ahhhh
14:20 Is it possible to heal (without dilators) by regulating your nervous system on a deeper level?
15:30 Is it common just to have pain/burning just at the entrance with vaginismus?
16:56 Is a common side effect burning and stinging?
17:15 Does any penetration pain count as vaginismus or is there a severity/frequency threshold?
18:25 Is the burning feeling normal, does it have anything to do with the hymen?
19:19 If you’re able to get pregnant with vaginismus, can vaginal delivery be typical? Or could vaginismus cause issues for a vaginal delivery? If a typical vaginal delivery is possible, could it cause more issues post delivery?
21:20 Who can diagnose me?
22:30 Does vaginal pH have to do anything with why intercourse is so painful?
23:26 I don’t know where to start. I have been in a relationship for 3 years and we haven’t had sex
25:15 Is it possible to have if you are a virgin? Or do you need to be “stretched out”? *** I COMPLETELY FORGOT TO MENTION TAMPONS! PEOPLE EVEN NOTICE SYMPTOMS OF VAGINISMUS WHEN THEY ARE UNABLE TO TOLERATE TAMPONS! THAT IS THE FIRST SIGN WITH PRIMARILY VAGINISMUS! YOU DEFINITELY DO NOT NEED TO BE SEXUALLY ACTIVE TO HAVE VAGINISMUS
26:06 What if you can get a couple inches in without pain but it won’t go all the way?
26:59 Relationship between vaginismus and hypermobility/connective tissue disorders.
