TRANSGIFURATION

“After six days Jesus took Peter, James and John with him and led them up a high mountain, where they were all alone. There he was transfigured before them. His clothes became dazzling white, whiter than anyone in the world could bleach them.”

 (Mark 9: 2-9)

Sometimes the 'walls' we hit are boundaries to abide by...
Often the walls we hit are holding up a ceiling.
If you don't take a break, eventually you just break.

In a culture consumed with production and performance, rest is warfare.
In Genesis, Adam & Eve’s first full day was not a day of work. It
was a day of rest. That order is significant. That means we work from rest, not rest from work.
Rest in not a reward. It’s a gift.
You were not created for a life you don’t have time for.
If we only speak of ‘work ethic’ but never ‘rest ethic’ an imbalance is inevitable.
In both music and life the difference between a song and noise is rest.
Sometimes the holiest thing we can do is take a nap…
