Our goal is to share our idea with other teachers and educators on leveraging the power of podcasting in schools. It is a powerful and high-quality medium to empower students of all grades and subjects.

The following is our proposal:

In this hands-on session, you’ll discover the importance of creating a learner-centered classroom podcast. We’ll demo how it all works and determine the best equipment to fit your needs.

Students will develop both their technical and soft skills that are transferable to other higher order thinking activities like writing, reading comprehension, researching, and communication.

A classroom podcast meets a wide variety of Common Core State Standards and the 21st Century Skills of Communication, Critical Thinking, Creativity, and Collaboration. Podcasting is an engaging and simple way for students to express themselves, share problem-solving ideas and personal perspectives.

Learning Objectives

* Attendees will leverage the use of podcasting in their classroom to meet the Common Core State Standards and 21st Century Skills.

* Attendees will discover the wide range of curricular projects that podcasting can offer.

* Attendees will analyze and compare classroom equipment choices on any budget that fits their needs.
