- Just start the conversation. Even if it’s not the right time, make sure they still see potential in building a relationship.
- Consider taking the expert or mentor approach by reaching out directly to one of the editors or producers whom you can build a relationship with.
- Refine the ask by giving them a clear, compelling reason to respond such as asking if you might be helpful or if a conversation would be worthwhile.
