It's certainly possible to do a bad thing for a good reason. For instance, maybe a thief will help you with the undead problem you've been facing if you agree to steal something from town for her. And if you're already breaking the law, you might as well just go ahead and snag a few extra things to sell later while you're at it, I dunno.
