Swimming Lessons
Remember swimming lessons as a kid?
All the kids holding the wall at the start, twisting to see the instructor towards the middle of the pool.
Things had to start somewhere, they had to get us letting go of the wall…floating…treading water.
To be free in the water you have start somewhere. To have the freedom of simplicity you have to let go of something.
Luke 12:32-34
32 “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. 33 Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will never fail, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. 34 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
James 2:20-22
20 You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless? 21 Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22 You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did.
Challenge:
Pray and ask God what is something that has too great a hold in your heart. Then take a direct action against holding on to that.
