Google has created a smart computer program called an AI co-scientist.

Think of it as a helper for scientists. This AI works together with scientists, not by itself, to speed up important discoveries in science. It's especially good at helping scientists find new medicines or new ways to use ones we already have.

For example, it helped find new ideas for treating serious health problems like a type of blood cancer and liver diseases.

It even helped quickly solve a difficult puzzle about how tiny germs fight off medicines, figuring out something in just two days that might have taken much longer. The AI is currently being tested by scientists in different research groups to make it even better. It's designed to be a super-smart partner to help scientists tackle tough science challenges.
