070 Going Deep In Mindfulness Practice with Chris Luard

Listen Later

In this episode, Chris Luard has generously shared what mindfulness is and the practice of non-judgment.
“When we are really practising mindfulness we are Bringing our awareness to our experience internally and externally. So we start to notice our own thoughts through that frame of non-judgement and that's become very powerful.” - Chris Luard
Christopher has received formal training in Zen, Mahamudra, and Dzogchen from the Mahayana (Japanese, Korean, and Tibetan) traditions; Vipassana and early Buddhist studies from the Theravada traditions; and Vedanta from the Hindu traditions. Additionally, Chris has received formal instruction from more modern traditions and modalities such as Secular Buddhism, MBSR, Insight, Somatic Experiencing, Polyvagal Theory, Buddhist Psychology, Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness, Neuroplasticity, and Trauma Healing.
Christopher considers himself a lifelong student. Currently, he is studying Mindfulness and Psychology at Harvard School of Medicine and also at Spirit Rock Dharma Center for Buddhist Studies. Both programs are at the PhD level.
