      In the book – Reengineering the Corporation – the story of processing a credit app.  It was taking 4 days to do the whole process

      • They wanted to reduce this time
      • Instead of the normal process of sending it from department to department for their piece of the process – someone physically walked the application through the process
      • They reduced the Elapsed time indeed – One day reduction? Two?  No, the whole process took 20 minutes –
      • The rest of the time was bottlenecks – sitting in peoples to do stack.

        • Reduce the Cycle time of a process – the steps from beginning to end

        You do this by finding and eliminating bottlenecks

        • Processes
