Our human response to conflict is to immediately get on the defensive and try to win the argument at any cost. It’s our survival instinct kicking in. But Pastor Jeff teaches us today that God’s will is for us to set aside our basic instincts and instead, choose the righteous path; to slow down and take the time to think before diving into an argument with someone. It takes time and patience to re-train our minds, but it will always be worth the effort. Reconciliation is a more desirable outcome than conflict.
