Show overview:
Angel McGee is the Manager of Community Partnerships & Events at the Kansas City Royals, as well as a Field Coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Unify people through sports:
Sports is a great escape from reality for most fans. Whatever is going on in a person’s life, they know their home team will always be there for them. It is also usually a discussion point with friends, family, and co-workers. Most importantly, sports have a tremendous impact on youth, with kids idolizing their favorite players. Angel appreciates the impact sports have on each and every community.
Discipline’s carry-over from sports:
Sports teaches discipline for an athlete’s entire life. You won’t always win every “game.” When you do lose, you have to pick yourself back up, practice, and get better. Angel faced plenty of adversity when being rejected for many different roles in her career. But she didn’t let that stop her, and has climbed the ladder within the Royals organization and is now on her 5th position.
