The second scene of our Lord's Transfiguration focuses on Divine Revelation and Authority.

The reaction of the three disciples shows us how powerful Divine Revelation is.

Jesus' instruction to the disciples to not share this moment with anyone shows that Divine privilege decides when, how, and where God speaks. The takeaway from Christ's Transfiguration moment is that Divine revelation causes human surprise and shock.

Because of this Divine Privilege, men & women will react to God’s revelation in a humbling and prostrate manner. Perhaps one may not physically fall to the ground in terror before God when HE shows his Sovereign Grace in regular circumstances, but certainly one’s heart will be prostrate before HIS Divine Glory.

Furthermore, this passage speaks to the role of the Church to continue the witness of the gospel and is privileged to be a part of God’s further Divine Revelation.
