Show overview:
Chris Stathos is the Partnership Development Manager for the Super Bowl LIV Champions - the Kansas City Chiefs. We discuss the ways listeners can relentlessly position themselves for long term success by intentionally seeking out people and moments that can accelerate their careers.
Advice for young professionals seeking out mentors:
Never appear desperate or needy. Most mentorships occur organically through long-term relationships. Most of the time mentors will actually seek you out first. Again, this is not them saying “Let me mentor you,” but they identify your strengths, energy, and professionalism, and trust you with work, projects, and other business or personal information.
Rest vs. Restoration:
Chris encourages listeners to be active in their restoration time. You can tackle big goals if you’re running on empty. After a challenging year of the COVID-19 pandemic, many people got plenty of rest when stuck in their homes. However, doing so was met with many mental and physical challenges. Rest is binging Netflix for hours. Restoration is doing something you love, that you enjoy, that recharges you.
Passion for Youth:
Chris had a lot of mentors positively impact his life and help him in his career. He is passionate about paying it forward by helping ambitious students and young professionals rewrite the rule books of their lives.
