Imagine what it would be like after a great and miraculous event occurred like Jesus' transfiguration. The Divine revelation described in this narrative was overwhelming to mere men ... Creatures of the Creator. The revelation was so overwhelming that men's hearts panicked .. their bodies collapsed in the abnormal beating of their chests.

Today's passage will take us further into the after effects of the grand vision of Jesus' glory. Jesus now teaches his disciples what the results of HIS revealed glory will be. HIS church will testify to the glory of the LORD but will do so in ways contrary to the expectation of men.

Jesus will further be revealed through HIS suffering. Likewise, HIS church will participate in this revelation as God's means to further reveal HIS glory in its suffering. The Church will share in Christ’s suffering and this shared suffering will be God’s means for further divine revelation of HIS glory to the world.
