WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

    WHEN I READ THE SYMPTOMS OF HURRY – I KNEW THE CAUSE OF MY PROBLEM

    The theme verse for the Ruthless book was this:

    Matthew 11:28-30

    28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

    THE MESSAGE:

    Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.””

    BUT, – – – and this is the point of the podcast – IF we’re not careful – if we’re going too fast – our work becomes drudgery.

    Margin – for ourselves

    How to build Margin into our Everyday Life.

    We are going Fast – We live in a fast-paced world.

    BUT we can choose our pace…

              2. The Daily Examen is a technique of prayerful reflection on the events of the day in order to detect God’s presence and discern his direction for us. The Examen is an ancient practice in the Church that can help us see God’s hand at work in our whole experience.

                St. Ignatius thought that the Examen was a gift that came directly from God, and that God wanted it to be shared as widely as possible.

                One of the few rules of prayer that Ignatius made for the Jesuit order was the requirement that Jesuits practice the Examen twice daily—at noon and at the end of the day. It’s a habit that Jesuits, and many other Christians, practice to this day.
