Jamie is a podcaster, writer, and speaker from Austin, Texas. She is the proud mama of four kids and the wife of Aaron, worship pastor of The Austin Stone Community Church. Jamie loves to encourage women to passionately follow Jesus through whatever stage of life. She does this through writing and her weekly podcast, The Happy Hour with Jamie Ivey.
We had so much fun chatting with Jamie, getting to chat with a fellow podcaster is always a blast!
Jamie shares her thoughts on what success is:
"success is something that I've just started thinking about (...) in the last year... when I think about my show to be a success, it means that people are enjoying it, and it's encouraging people, and inspiring women and connecting women, those are things that are really important to me."
More thoughts on success, as it relates to podcasting. {we couldn't agree with this more!}
"let's be honest, success equals numbers, right? Is it okay to say that? So the balance of I want more downloads ... but if I had more downloads but no one came to me and said, Jamie, your show really encourages me, I don't think it would be a success for me."
We also chat with Jamie about how she got into podcasting, it started with winning a spot on a morning radio show!
"one of the things I loved about radio... i loved having a voice, I loved being able to encourage people, and talk, and have my voice out there."
We also chat about why it's so important to value ourselves, our work and so much more!
