Lots of people don’t like public speaking. Melissa was one, but it was just what she needed. The best way to get the word out about your business may be word of mouth. Yours. Or in the case of Melissa Anaya, hers. As the founder of Eat Drink AZ, she had to get over her fear of the camera to start representing food and beverage brands in Arizona in videos for social. She was doing it free of charge — yes, she admits, because she’s a foodie — but she says it was important for her to do it well. “I was using my platform for what was always my bigger goal: to sign them with my agency. Once I had that validation for what people were seeing on Facebook and Instagram, I was a trusted source.” Now she’s not scared. Just successful.
