Logan Spurgeon's novel Hinterland is a metaphorical account of his time in a doomsday cult. We discuss his experience in the cult and how it formed into the weird trip that Hinterland is. We also discuss his struggles within that church and his sexuality, the manipulation of belief systems, and some of the odd, maybe supernatural, things he may have experienced as a member of the cult.
