I am strong because I visualize what I truly want to happen.
I give multiple presentations and talks each year, and I will be honest with you, they scare the hell out of me every time. 2 weeks before I start planning and prepping. I will spend countless hours just rolling ideas around in my head of what to talk about and what not to talk about. I will endless practice the phrases I want to say, the major ideas I need to research more of, and incessantly worry about how to put it altogether. There are so many directions I can go and I think I get into the paralysis of analysis. When I get ready to give the speech, I get so nervous right before I get on stage thinking I will forget how to start, that most times I do forget due to the anxiety I place on myself. But when I stop focusing on forgetting, and I place my attention towards bringing a great energy—my whole presentation changes. I stop focusing on what can go wrong, and I start seeing how I can connect better with audience members. I come back to what I always knew—that it’s not about memorizing every detail but more in making an impact in the audience’s minds and lives. When we pivot our focus from what can go wrong, and remember to focus our energy on the impact we want to make instead we then create great things.
Thanks for listening. I'm sending great energy your way as we become Strong Within together,
