The Beautiful Struggle

078: Why Didn’t I Go Into Teaching Sooner? with Kari Lantin

Listen Later

This is our first episode with a parent of my former student! Kari Lantin is an industrial and shoe design instructor at the Academy of Art in San Francisco.  She’s the one who helped with our shoe design unit that we mentioned in our 62nd Episode about how Fred and I team taught with our friends Ed & Connie Soriano at Take 1 Academy!  She designed shoes and apparel for ESPRIT and Gymboree and fell into writing curriculum for design and then teaching.  Listen to her passion for design and her students as well as how technology is changing the design game.  We mentioned “lawnmower parents” and you can hear our dear friend Dr. Charlene Lobo Soriano define it in our 28th Episode!
If you’d like to contact Kari, email [email protected] and I’ll be sure to help you out!
