This week we are joined by special guest Dr. Michelle Heck, research molecular biologist in the Emerging Pests and Pathogens Research Unit of USDA in Ithaca, NY. Our regular hosts include Monique Rivera, assistant professor of entomology at Cornell AgriTech; Kerik Cox, associate professor of plant pathology; Līga Astra Kalniņa, Cox Lab graduate student; and Anna Wallis, Fruit IPM Coordinator.

In this episode, Monique interviews Dr. Heck about the current research and potential applications of peptides in tree fruit. Līga gives the scab and fireblight forecast. Kerik talks about managing fireblight on new plantings. Anna brings us the latest phenology and pest captures from around the state. Recorded May 16 (Monique and Anna) and May 17 (Kerik and Līga), and released May 17, 2023.
