David McErlain: I would like to have a resume that I can feel good about sending out and start focusing on outreach.

  • Reorder your experience section to prioritize scripted work, placing the Netflix credit at the top to immediately show your most relevant experience.
  • Clarify your scripted credits. If you didn't work on an entire season, add a parenthetical note to avoid misrepresentation.
  • Adjust your "Core Capabilities" to appeal to both producers and editors. Reduce redundancy and add a bullet point that speaks to creativity and collaboration.
  • Create a table for the credits section and make three distinct columns: one for credits, one for companies, and one for distributors.
  • Add to your resume header that you are a member of the Editors Guild.
