This morning in Minneapolis, we're expecting showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 5pm. Some of these storms could really bring it with heavy rainfall. It's going to be partly sunny with a high near 85. The southeast wind will be blowing at 10 to 15 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 25 miles per hour. There's a 60% chance of precipitation today, so grab that umbrella just in case. New rainfall amounts could range between a half and three-quarters of an inch.

Tonight, the showers and thunderstorms will continue, especially before 10pm. Some storms could be severe and produce heavy rainfall. The chance of precipitation is high at 90%, with new rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Looking ahead to Friday, expect a mix of sun and clouds, with a gradual transition to a sunny sky. The high will be near 79 with a gentle west-northwest wind of 5 to 10 miles per hour.

As we head into the weekend, get ready for clear skies and sunshine. Saturday will be sunny with a high near 82, while Sunday's high will be around 73.
