In this passage, Mary and Joseph obey the Law of Moses by bringing Jesus to the temple for His presentation and Mary’s purification, demonstrating their faithfulness to God’s commands. Simeon, a righteous and devout man who had been promised by the Holy Spirit that he would see the Messiah before his death, joyfully recognizes Jesus as the fulfillment of God's salvation. Anna, a devoted prophetess who worships God with fasting and prayer day and night, praises Him and speaks about Jesus to all who were waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem.
