Gerald Horne joins IMAGiNE FiTTiNG IN™ to discuss African American history, global systems, and the importance of education in shaping informed perspectives.
Hosted by Greg Alan Jankowski – The Balance Professor
Gerald Horne is the Moores Professor of History & African American Studies at the University of Houston, and one of the most prolific historians and scholars in the United States. Known for his extensive body of work, Professor Horne has authored dozens of books exploring African American history, global history, labor movements, colonialism, and the African diaspora.
His scholarship bridges historical analysis with present-day understanding—examining how economic systems, race, power, and resistance movements have shaped societies across centuries. Professor Horne’s work challenges conventional narratives and offers deeper context into issues that continue to influence education, politics, and culture today.
On the IMAGiNE FiTTiNG IN™ Podcast, Professor Horne brings an academic yet accessible voice to conversations about history, identity, and mentorship. His insights help 14–22 year olds, educators, and lifelong learners understand the importance of historical awareness in shaping critical thinking, leadership, and informed citizenship.
