Read all about the surge in digital reading through libraries here and about Toronto's incredible 9 million digital checkouts, which puts them at the top worldwide.
Overdrive is the main app for borrowing ebooks from your library through the Kobo. You can also borrow audiobooks and magazines.
Hoopla is another app accessible through your local library and gives you access to movies, music, and so. many. comics and graphic novels.
Audible and Libro.fm are both excellent apps for listening to audiobooks. Audible is an Amazon company, while Libro.fm allows you to support a local bookstore of your choosing.
Not reading related, but if you're into films (as we are!), Kanopy is another library app that lets you watch a few movies each month for free and they have an extensive catalogue of recent films, classics, and foreign films.
