“Love Never Fails”, even when the target of that love has died. This is the motto and mission that has motivated and bolstered Sarah Mayfield since the sudden and unexpected death of her 1.5 year old son, Elliot, seven years ago. Sarah is a Compassionate Bereavemet Care Certified Provider who has used her own grief to help others to lessen their trauma while honoring and carrying grief, taking what they feel inwardly and expressing it outwardly through ritual, and acknowledging that while grief doesn’t necessarily get easier, it does shift and move in different ways.
She shares many of the beautiful ways that she and her family honor Elliot in their home and in their community, including her book This Sure Thing, which encourages youth like her other son, Bradley, to live the love they have for their person no longer here. Listen for clear, powerful tips for speaking with young people about death, rituals you can incorporate in your life to honor loved ones who have died, and how to simply be there for people who have experienced a traumatic loss.
