In episode 9 of the Social Good HQ Podcast Caroline chats with Martin Warrillow, a Journalist and stroke survivor who runs a publishing company called- Ask The Warrior.
Martin was born in Worcestershire in 1964. He always wanted to be a journalist since the age of nine, when he realised that his father brought the Birmingham Post home from work every day. That path took him to a degree in Modern European Studies at Loughborough University before his first paid job, at the Tamworth Herald .
After five years there and two at the Sutton Coldfield Observer, he joined the Birmingham Post in October 1992. In December 2009, with the winds of change battering the newspaper industry, he left and set up Martin Warrillow Publishing Services. As part of that business, he edited British Naturism magazine from 2010-13.
A stroke at the end of 2013, as a result of which he was almost run over by a bus, caused a radical change in his life direction and that of MWPS. He is now passionate about helping people understand the causes of strokes, how to deal with them and how to rehabilitate stroke survivors.
