Today’s guest is a good friend of the Successful Women in Business Network or SWIBTribe, Alison Edgar MBE.

Alison hosted our International Women's Day conference in March 2020 – and this recording was made when she was the guest speaker at our last network meeting of that year. 

Alison set up her own business to work with entrepreneurs, start-ups and teams, after leaving the world of blue-chip sales.

According to Forbes magazine "90% of start-up businesses fail", Alison made it her mission to flip this statistic on its head and give every business a fighting chance.

Since then, she has been crowned ‘The Entrepreneurs Godmother’ by a plethora of successful entrepreneurs including Dragon’s Den and Apprentice Winners. In recognition of her outstanding contribution to enterprise, not only was she named one of the UK’s Top Ten business advisers, she was awarded an MBE in  2020.

 

Alison’s debut book ‘Secrets of Successful Sales’, is an international best-seller and was featured in the Independent’s 2019 Top Business Books written by Women.

Based on her TEDx talk, ‘The Art of Getting What You Want’, Alison is now working on book number 2 which combines her work with top entrepreneurs and psychology to teach everyday people to think with an entrepreneurial mindset, to meet their goals and improve their lives.
