בענין מום שבגלוי בעבד כנעני

The two massive issues of the sugya are...

1) Is the יציאת שן ועין a קנס  or a תשלומין

2) What is the criteria for the type of מום  that causes an עבד כנעני  to go free. Is it like מומין  that we find by קרבנות or is it a completely different set of criteria.

Would it make sense that these two issues are connected and that the criteria for issue #2 is based on the reasoning of issue #1.
