Healing with Purpose

#1: Being in relationship with yourself

Listen Later

In today's show Lydia + Sarah share the story of how this podcast came to be, discuss the COVID19 pandemic and its impact on us, and share thoughts and ideas about how to be in relationship with yourself.  Here are some of the tools and journal prompt we discuss in the show:

Journal/Reflection Questions:

  • How am I talking to myself?
  • How do I show myself love?
  • How do I prioritize my needs?
  • Where do I need boundaries in my life + relationships?
  • Tools:

    • If your self-talk is negative, stop yourself and act as if you are talking to a friend instead.  What would you say to your friend if they were going through this same thing?
    • Shame voice versus guiding voice.  Ask yourself which you are using.
    • First step after you listen to this podcast is to be aware of how you are speaking to yourself.
    • Give your shame voice and guiding voice a name.  If you don't want the shame voice to run the show today close your eyes and visualize yourself putting that voice (person) in the closet and actively choosing not to listen to it today.
