In this series, we will go through the entirety of Fyodor Dostoyevsky's The Brothers Karamazov. In this episode, we begin by briefly talking about Dostoyevsky's life (and how much of his life can be found to underlie the events of this novel). We also discuss briefly why we are reading this book.  

We then move into talk about the first four chapters of BK. 1, and the relationship between original sin dramatically portrayed in the context of being a Karamazov.
