As we continue into the New Testament, Paul’s letter to the Corinthian church opens with gratitude and reassurance. He thanks God for the believers—for the grace they have received through Christ Jesus—and reminds them of a powerful promise: that God will keep them strong to the very end. Faithful as always, God has called them into partnership with His Son, and He will accomplish all He has said.
Yet amid this encouragement comes a heartfelt appeal. Reports of division have reached Paul—believers aligning themselves with different leaders, creating unnecessary conflict. With urgency and care, he calls the church back to unity: to be of one mind, joined together in purpose, free from division.
Paul then turns their attention to a deeper truth—the wisdom of God. The message of the cross, so often dismissed as foolish by the world, is in fact the very power of God to those who believe. What seems weak, offensive, or insignificant by human standards is precisely what God uses to reveal His glory. In doing so, He removes all reason for human pride, reminding us that salvation is never something we can earn or boast about.
Speaking personally, Paul reflects on how he first came to them—not with eloquence or persuasive speech, but in humility and dependence on the Holy Spirit. His message was simple, yet powerful, so that their faith would rest not on human wisdom, but on the power of God.
And yet, there is a wisdom he does speak—a hidden and eternal wisdom, revealed only through God’s Spirit. It is a mystery once concealed, now made known to those who seek Him. This wisdom cannot be grasped by human understanding alone; it is revealed spiritually, discerned by those who are led by the Spirit.
For while the world may fail to understand, believers are given something extraordinary—the very mind of Christ.
This passage invites us to lay aside pride, embrace unity, and discover a deeper, Spirit-led wisdom—one that transforms how we see God, ourselves, and the world around us.
Verse of the Day: 2 Corinthians 1:3
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort.
Action of the Day:
