* If you don’t understand a language then people remain strangers with no ability to grow in a relationship, at least, not without an interpreter.
* In marriage the same thing happens - if communication breaks down spouses become strangers to each other.
* This is where the Holy Spirit comes in as the interpreter.
* If both spouses take their situation to the God then His Holy Spirit can become the interpreter between the two.
* The Holy Spirit will then speak “to and through” each spouse.
* Then the Spirit in each will recognize the voice because they are of one Spirit.
* The Holy Spirit becomes the conduit for communication - the connection point.
* Connection is impossible apart from communication - without it you’re left with a chasm!
* Here are the basic rules of good communication - LEARN:
* 1) Listen - seek to understand before trying to be understood.
* 2) Empathize - get into their world and try to feel what they feel.
* 3) Ask Questions - clarify to make sure you understand.
* 4) take Responsibility - own your part.
* 5) Never undervalue what the other person says or feels.
