We were all created with a pre-packed purpose by God.
• Paul is talking about the resurrection - how our new bodies don’t look like the old ones.
• Death is what brings about this new birth.
• Vs 35-38 - he uses the analogy of a seed.
• Before the tree came into being, it’s purpose was already defined.
• *** Your fulfillment in life is connected to you operating within your purpose. ***
• An apple seed is jamb-packed with the purpose of being an apple tree.
• If God made you an apple, don’t try to be an orange just because oranges get all the cool commercials, etc.
• Three keys to purpose (taken from Psalms 139:16):
• Our purpose is something we have to DISCOVER.
• It’s initially hidden from us.
• Our purpose is discovered through DEATH.
• Death brings us into alignment with our design.
• Our purpose is not always tied to our DESIRE.
• Your desire will morph.
• Our purpose takes time to play itself out.
• An apple tree takes years to grow, and it never stops.
• How do we know if we’re following God’s purpose for us?
• 1) When doors open automatically.
• 2) When you’re at total rest.
• 3) When you feel energized the more you do it.
• 4) When you have the grace to handle the blessings that come from it.
• 5) When you feel God’s power working through you - others will experience change (like Paul in prison when other prisoners’ chains fell off).
