Bernardo José de Souza nasceu em Pelotas, Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil, em 1974. Ele faz exposições, escreve e pesquisa arte contemporânea. Foi diretor artístico da Fundação Iberê Camargo, em Porto Alegre, e no momento trabalha como curador independente em Madri. Foi parte da equipe curatorial da 19ª Bienal SESC_Videobrasil, realizada em São Paulo, em 2015. Foi também membro da equipe curatorial da 9ª Bienal do Mercosul, em Porto Alegre, em 2013. Entre 2005 e 2013 trabalhou como diretor do Departamento de Cinema, Vídeo e Fotografia da Secretaria de Cultura de Porto Alegre.

[Bernardo José de Souza was born in Pelotas, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, in 1974. He makes exhibitions, writes and investigates contemporary art. Former Artistic Director of Fundação Iberê Camargo, in Porto Alegre - Brazil, he now works as an independent curator based in Madrid. He was part of the curatorial team of 19th Biennial of Contemporary Art SESC_Videobrasil, held in São Paulo in 2015, and also a member of Sofia Hernandez Chong Cuy's curatorial team in the 9th Mercosul Biennial | Porto Alegre Brazil in 2013; from 2005 until 2013 he worked as the Director of the Department of Cinema, Video and Photography at the Secretary of Culture of Porto Alegre, Brazil]
