Josué Mattos nasceu em Criciúma, Santa Carina, Brasil, em 1982. É historiador da arte e curador. A convite do SESC-SP, concebeu o projeto Frestas - Trienal de Artes e assumiu a curadoria da primeira edição, "O que seria do mundo sem as coisas que não existem? / Nossa proposição é o diálogo" (2014/2015). Em 2018, recebeu o 6º Prêmio Marcantonio Vilaça na categoria curador. Foi curador residente no Aomori Contemporary Art Centre (Japão) e curador geral do Museu de Arte de Santa Catarina. Graduou-se em História da Arte e Arqueologia (Université Paris X Nanterre) e concluiu os mestrados de História da Arte Contemporânea (Paris X/Nanterre) e Práticas Curatoriais (Univ. Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne), ambos em 2009. Dedica-se à fundação do Centro Cultural Veras, em construção, na cidade de Florianópolis.

[Josué Mattos was born in Criciúma, Santa Catarina, Brazil, in 1982. He's an art historian and cuartor. Invited by SESC São Paulo, he conceived the project "Frestas - Arts Triennial" and curated the first edition titled "What would be of the world without the things that don’t exist / Our proposition is the dialogue" (2014/2015). In 2018, he received the 6th Marcantonio Vilaça Award dedicated to curators. He was a resident curator at Aomori Contemporary Art Centre (Japan) and general curator of the Art Museum of Santa Catarina. He is graduated in Art History and Archeology (Université Paris X Nanterre) and finished master degrees in Contemporary Art History (Paris X Nanterre) and Curatorial Practices (Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne), both in 2009.
