1. Image and Likeness

We are made in the “Image and Likeness”* of God.

What are we supposed to do with that?

To live into it, live underneath it,

the pressures of it clinging to our back?

Image is Life. And Life’s Spirit is eternal.

As Christ self-empty’s the universal consciousness

of each and every One

The same life, the source, the essence

that compels a flower to grow up

stretching out in praise to the sun.

Image is a product of our Mother’s very breath.

Ever expanding, ever donating,

presencing forth through life and death.

Thus, ‘to Be’ – defines ‘What Is’ – as image.

To be image… is just to Be.

Image is the unified field of this.

As ‘thisness’ is God’s very image

Humans, stones, trees, and birds.

Why then have our religions

Become just a squabble over words?

All that is… is God’s image,

So we are all truly One.

We must be present to

‘Just What Is’ with that as purpose.

Or blindly chasing preferences into

extinction humanity will run.

Likeness though is different;

likeness allows mankind to play the tone.

Consciousness a lifelong project

building a rocket to take us home.

Likeness grows as We surrender

into the infinite unknown.

Death then ignites a homing beacon,

careening back to our Creator’s throne.

Our choices then become our likeness

Likeness grows as a flower mirroring the sun.

Will we continue to grow into illusory egos?

Or grow into the consciousness of One?

Image and Likeness… how do we live it well?

Only time will tell.

Will mankind honor Image and Likeness?

God… within all life!

Seek “the kingdom of heaven”**

and lay aside egoic-strife?

To Image. And to Likeness,

in human beings… should become verbs.

As religion was the single seed that perished

it was buried by idolizing words.

Now instead Christ grows from within my chest.

Not just in ‘heaven up above’.

As in Me

We

live out the verb

Love.
