Yesterday in 1 Kings 18, we saw fire fall from heaven as the Lord vindicated His name on Mount Carmel. Today in 1 Kings 19, the mountaintop moment gives way to the valley of despair. Elijah, the bold prophet who stood alone against hundreds, now flees in fear. This chapter reminds us that even the strongest servants of God can grow weary—yet He meets us not always in fire or earthquake, but in a still small voice.
